31 Days of Halloween Calendar

This is for a class at The Mad Scrapper on Thursday.
I just love Halloween and especially this paper line by My Minds Eye-Boo to You. So fun. Here are some photos from this project,

it is really large-built on a piece of foamcore 20x30.
I used the COOLEST google eyes, they are on springs. They look so adorable on Frankie!

Another New Project for our Scrap Yard Chicks Weekend

This is one of our mini class projects (Make and Takes) for Sunday afternoon. It is a Coin Envelope Mini Album. One of my talented partners Kathy created this little beauty. The envelopes are custom die cut and then she used Pink Paislee's Amber Road collection.
Each envelope has a tag inside to journal about the things we are grateful for. It is so beautiful, photos don't do this project justice.

Our First Scrap Yard Chicks Project is Online!

Our First Project for our Scrap Yard Chicks Fall Weekend Workshop is online!
It is one of my classes, a cute 6x6 recipe Book. It is a Maya Road sheer binder and Shabby Green Door paper, rubons and other cute embellishments. I just love this line of paper, it reminds me of my Betty Crocker Cookbook that was my mom's from the 40's.

We will be making pockets and pages for recipe storage.
We are also including a set of stamps to make your own custom recipe cards. Those Shabby Green Door rub ons are so great on the sheer binder tabs-they go on like butter!

Accordion Card Box

This project is for a class Weds night at The Mad Scrapper in Issaquah. I love this Junebug paper line from Basic Grey. I love anything with great red papers in it.

The file box is entirely handmade, the covers are chipboard, the sides and dividers are made with the Scor Pal and Bazzill cardstock. This is a repeat class, I originally made this project last year.

We have set the date for our first event!

Oh my gosh I am so excited for our first Scrap Yard Chicks Event!
It is Saturday October 17th-Sunday October 18th
at the Holiday Inn in Issaquah.

We are going to make this an AMAZING weekend with great projects (5 classes plus 2 mini classes)-with lots of product included, really terrific goodie bags, a table top organizer (you know how us scrapbookers love new stuff to organize in), prizes and so much more! The best part is we are cherry picking the pieces we like from a variety of paper manufacturers, plus no commercials to buy this or that, no stupid games to waste your time, lots of space to work, extra product available for purchase, time in the evening to catch up or work on something new, a full tool table with a Cricut, stamps, punches, etc. all in a fun and creative atmosphere. We have all been busy combing through new releases plus some older stuff to find the very best products for you.

Cost is $250 which includes all your supplies for classes, plus lunch both days, other snacks, and all of the wonderful other extras I mentioned above. The Holiday Inn is also offering a room rate for anyone who wants to stay over. We'll have more details very very soon.

Hint about some of our projects:
Desktop calendar on a metal album stand with die cut chipboard and paper pages-October Afternoon papers and embellies-so so cute.
Maya Road Chipboard house (this is 3 dimensional) with a mini album inside using Upsy Daisy (this is a newer company from BC that we LOVE their stuff) papers and other cool embellies
Mixed Media Mini Album-you know with chipboard, acrylic, envelopes, tags using the new Making Memories Mistletoe Paper and embellies- or Making Memories Halloween Paper and embellies
Other Mini Album-yet to be determined but I promise FAB- U - LOUS-possibly a recipe book in a Maya Road Sheer Binder with Shabby Green Door (an offshoot of Daisy Bucket) paper line Farmers Market and other cool stuff.
12 x 12 Album Class-you will get an entire pack of Basic Grey Paper (one sheet of each paper from the collection-18 pieces total), stickers, embellishments, die cuts, cardstock, etc. We will be making 10- 12 x 12 coordinating layouts and you get the rest of the product-trust me there is a lot- to make more pages on your own. We will have at least 2 different color/paper line selections for this class
Make and Take Mini Classes- 2 great mini projects, we haven't figured these out but once again F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.

Remember, these projects are all in the planning stages, so there might be changes along the way, but we promise you will not regret spending your weekend with the Scrap Yard Chicks.

We are finishing our website so we can get it online and start collecting deposits. We will only have 50 spots open for this event, if you want to be on our emailing list go to our blog www.scrapyardchicks.com , scroll down a bit and there is a link to sign up for our email. We will be opening registration to our email list first.

Okay enough for now. John is heading to Canada this weekend for a week of Salmon fishing, I am so excited. I have so many projects I want to get done while he is away, plus making some kits to sell for the Chicks.
Cheers!
Kerry

This is for a class Thursday night at The Mad Scrapper in Issaquah. It is a book of file folders covered with the new Lemonade line by Basic Grey. Gorgeous paper. So summery. Each page makes a pocket to store all of your summer memorabilia.

Celebrate Summer Banner

This is for a class at The Mad Scrapper on Thursday night. I just love banners, and this paper is one of my favorites-Snorkel by Cosmo Cricket. I am going to make one of these for my mom to hang up in her great room-the Happy Spring banner she has hanging on her fireplace has got to come down!

All American Summer Album

Here is a chipboard album that I am teaching this Thursday June 25th at The Mad Scrapper in Issaquah.
I used a Creative Imaginations Star Chipboard album and then made my own 6x6 and 4x6 pages. I also added in a pocket page-love those.
The paper is Creative Imaginations too, I thought it was really cute paper.

The last page has a chipboard star that swing sideways. I just love 4th of July paper, so patriotic and fun!

Exciting News Coming Soon

I have been very bad at writing, I blame it on the 2 weeks I have been in Eastern Washington helping out my parents, but actually I just have trouble keeping up. My dad had foot surgery and has been in a cast for 10 weeks, he has 2 weeks more to go. Anyhow, I have been here A LOT this spring.

I have been working with 3 partners on a new business venture. I can't wait to announce it once we get all of our details worked out. Here is a sneak peek of a new logo. I am the chick on the left with the apron of course.

Flip Flap Album

This is a super cute album that I saw on 2 peas made by Maren Benedict. Such a great idea with all of the flaps, a very fun album for the weekly class I teach at The Mad Scrapper in Issaquah. The class is Thursday June 4th, and the actual project is on display at the store. I changed up the design a bit-of course-I love to scraplift but always have to put a different spin on it. I used the new Making Memories Great Escape paper line and some Mrs. Grossmans rub ons.

I only had time to snap a few photos, we are off this weekend to Port Madison on Bainbridge Island for a boating weekend with friends.

Cute Little House Album

I just love this project. It was another of our weekend projects at The Mad Scrapper. It is a Maya Road album, Basic Grey Marakesh papers, LOTS of buttons. There was lots of cutting and pasting but I thought it turned out just adorable.

Stationery Box

This was a class I taught a few weeks ago at my lss. Very cute project, I made a few for Mother's Day gifts. It looks like a gift box but when you lift off the top it unfolds and it is a holder for cards, tags, gift cards, stamps, etc. I found the directions on Split Coast Stampers http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/-I just love that site for great ideas.

More Projects

Here is another project from the weekend. It is a mixed up mini album, pages are chipboard, acrylic, envelopes, file folders, pockets, cardstock, etc. Very fun. We used a really nice new paper line by Creative Imaginations.

Projects from Scraptacular Weekend

I just taught seven classes last weekend at The Mad Scrapper in Issaquah. It was so much fun but I have been so exhausted since I got home on Sunday night. We did some really awesome projects.
One of my favorites was an Edgy Album by Bo Bunny. The theme was Together. There aren't any photos in the project, I don't usually put in photos so if the store wants to sell the samples they don't have my wonderful family photos in them.
For more photos I posted the pages at Two Peas. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1491878

New Project for my niece's birthday

This is a mini book project I did for my niece Brittani's 17th birthday. I love these wood books by Kaiser Craft, very fun, then I added some acrylic pages between, lots of jewels. The photos aren't very good, I was using my dad's camera and couldn't get the colors just right.

My Entry into the World of Blogging

I have always been resistant the the "blog" movement. Most of my friends have blogs where they post their amazing photographs and fun events. Okay, that is not my style. I don't take amazing photographs, (I actually use a point and shoot digital camera), and most of the stuff in my life is not interesting enough to read about. But I wanted to post some of my class projects and layouts that I teach at my local scrapbook store www.madscrapper.com.

So here I am venturing into the world of blogging. I will try and keep up by posting some of my fun project ideas. I was pretty impressed with myself that I figured out how to do those amazing slide shows on the side. Pretty cool huh?

I also needed to learn about blogging for my husband www.johnbarker.net who is starting his Real Estate Blog. Its always easier to create something for someone else if you have done it yourself first. So enjoy, leave a comment if you like.
